Students in all three 1st-grade classes treated the school to their annual "Balloons Over Jefferson" parade on Tuesday, November 26th. Everyone lined the halls to watch and cheer on the procession. Macy's would be proud. 😊 #WarsawINSPIRES

If you attended Jefferson's Cultural Heritage Night on Thursday, November 21st, then you were among a large and happy crowd who enjoyed good food from a variety of cultures, as well as entertainment from Ballet Folklorico, give-aways, free resources for families, etc. Thank you to our organizers and many volunteers, especially Mrs. Xochitl Cervantes, Mrs. Lauren Harbison, Mrs. Jenni McCammon, Mrs. Nicole Smith, and Principal Joshua Wall. Thank you to all of our "country representatives" for sharing your amazing cultures with us! Thank you to Mrs. Fabiola Nuñez and Ballet Folklorico for contributing beauty through dance. And thank you to all Jefferson families who came out for a fun and engaging evening! ​#WarsawINSPIRES

Today's activity tasked our Family Groups with building a "turkey enclosure," using only spaghetti noodles and miniature marshmallows. Many unique structures emerged, but three were chosen for their creativity and soundness. #WarsawINSPIRES

When you're out and about this weekend, don't forget to pick up some jam or jelly in plastic jars or squeeze bottles* to help us do our part in this year's Food Drive for Combined Community Services. Jefferson has been asked to collect over 700 jellies/jams, so please help us reach our school's goal. Let's stock CCC's shelves as we approach the busy holiday season. If YOU would like to support our community in this way, feel free to drop off jellies or jams to the front office. We'd be so grateful for extra help from our friends and neighbors! ​ For students/staff who bring in at least one jam/jelly, wearing jammies on Friday the 22nd is your reward! Retiring resource officer Joe Bumbaugh was this year's recipient of a flag that flew over Jefferson. This has become a tradition at our Veteran's Day program, where our school presents a flag to someone special . "Officer Joe" was Jefferson's resource officer for many years and also served in the US Navy. Officer Joe handed out cookies to students at lunch and was also celebrated by staff. He will be missed! #WarsawINSPIRES
