Recently, 4th grade students at Jefferson, a Warsaw Community Schools (WCS) STEM-certified elementary school, have been learning about various kinds of renewable energy: wind, hydro and solar power.
WCS district partner, PSG Energy Group, came in to share about solar power. In 2016, PSG first installed solar panels throughout Warsaw Community Schools buildings and has remained a close partner.
Last week, a team from PSG came to continue the preventative maintenance program throughout the district. While in town, they stopped by Jefferson to meet with students, share the potential behind solar energy at local and national levels and continue the dialogue with a Q&A session.
This specific partnership with PSG and Jefferson Elementary School has taken place for the last few years. Marc Andrews, a 4th grade teacher, shared, “PSG was able to take a complex subject matter and make it understandable to our students. They brought scientific, engineering, and practical experience together.” 4th grade student, Elijah Jarrett, was grateful for the time. He added, “Thank you for doing everything you can for us to better understand solar energy.”
WCS and Jefferson Elementary thanks PSG for taking the time to give thoughtful consideration to our students and community. They are difference-makers for current and future generations.
