Disney Day at WCHS

This past weekend, the WCHS Drama Department presented its Annual Disney Character Day from 12:00 to 3:00 PM at the Warsaw High School Performing Arts Center. Children marveled at the opportunity to make special crafts with their favorite characters and were delighted to have photo opportunities with them all.

One of the offerings included characters reading to children. Rapunzel read A Jedi, You Must Become. Moana read The Little Mermaid. Mary Poppins read A New Friend: A Frozen Story. Belle read Olaf’s Birthday. Rey Skywalker read Deputy Mater Saves the Day.

A special feature this year was when Jasmine read El Rey Leon (The Lion King en Espanol).

Woody read Aladdin. Elsa & Anna read Escape from Darth Vader.

Facepainting & concessions were also a big hit!

Warsaw Community Schools would like to thank all involved in making the Annual Disney Day an incredible way for students to use their gifts & talents to enrich the lives of others as well as an opportunity to support the WCS Strategic Plan Pillars: Inclusivity & Experience.

(Shared with Parent Permission)

One local family shared a social media post that started with ”We had our worst parent moments today…” The post went on to explain that they thought Disney Day STARTED at 3 pm so when they showed up and realized their mistake, their daughter “was devastated and started crying in the hall.” Our very own Fairy Godmother Lori Owens & the entire PAC Team came to the rescue! Everyone went into action to give this little girl a VIP personal tour, photos with all her favorite characters, and an experience she and her family will never forget. The parent post wrapped with, “I didn’t catch everyone’s names that so selflessly gave up their time to do that, so I wanted to post this to give them ALL the recognition they deserve. Thank you so much.”

We could not agree more! Thank you to all Thespians, parents, and PAC leaders for rallying together and turning a parent’s worst moments into something magical.

  • Here's a video highlight and a few photos to celebrate another successful Disney Day!
