POSTED: May 15, 2025 Exciting Day at Winona Lake Limitless Park! Our students had an amazing time today enjoying outdoor activities at the park. They played pickleball, beach volleyball, and wiffleball - creating memories and having a blast together! These types of group activities are fantastic for building teamwork, enjoying physical exercise, and creating lasting friendships. We're grateful for opportunities like these that allow our students to play, connect, and enjoy the outdoors. So thankful for Holly Hummitch and her Parks Staff for providing such a wonderful space for students and families to enjoy!! POSTED: May 15, 2025 "Learning in E1" is happening in 7th Grade ELA Focus classes to wrap up the school year. Students have been reading, researching, and writing about podcast creations, as well as diving deeper into their chosen topic. They are learning how writing can go beyond the multi-paragraph essay. POSTED: May 15, 2025 Leah Stafford will be heading to Royal Pin Expo Bowl in Indianapolis on Saturday May 17, 2025 to bowl in the Indiana Middle School Bowling State Finals. On May 3, 2025 The Bowling Alley in Warsaw hosted the Indiana State Middle School Bowling Regionals with bowlers from Jimtown, Concord, Northridge, Indian Springs, Northside, West Side, Whitko, Edgewood and Lakeview middle schools. All bowlers bowled four games, moving one pair of lanes to the right after each game, and the scores were all scratch as no handicap is used. Leah was the highest scoring scratch bowler out of the six 8th grade girls bowling in this Regional event advancing her to Semi-State. She was also one of the four bowlers who comprised a team for Lakeview that finished as second runner up at this Regionals event that also advanced to Semi-State. This team comprised of Leah Stafford, Brynly Caudill, Caleb Handy, and Cloey Cordill. On May 10, 2025 Leah and the team advancing headed to Thunder Bowl #1 in Fort Wayne to bowl in the IMSB Semi-State Finals with bowlers from the entire northern part of the state attending. The southern part of the state held their Semi-State in Lafayette the same day. All bowlers bowled four games, moving one pair of lanes to the right after each game, and the scores were all scratch as no handicap is used. After a very tough day bowling on a difficult shot the advancing team missed the cut to advance to State by 18 pins. Out of 26 teams they finished 10th with a combined scratch series of 2,350 pins. Leah Stafford’s scores were used for both team and individual. There were a total of nine 8th grade girls she was competing against and only the top three would advance. She ended up finishing second runner up and earned advancement to the State Finals. #LakeviewInspires #WarsawInspires #Bowling

The Warsaw Middle School Bands will present their Spring Concert on Monday, May 12 at 7:00 p.m. in the Lakeview Middle School Auditorium. The performance will feature the combined Edgewood and Lakeview Bands, along with the 6th Grade Band, performing crowd favorites such as The Greatest Showman, Skyfall, Power Rock, Theme from James Bond, and many more. POSTED: May 6, 2025 As the school year concludes, it's time to bid farewell to our remarkable student teacher, Izabella Burke, who has been an invaluable part of the Lakeview community. From the moment she joined us, Miss Burke brought enthusiasm, creativity, and a genuine passion for teaching. Her ability to connect with our 8th graders and make learning both fun and meaningful has left a lasting impression on students and staff alike. In her own words: “I had the best time here at Lakeview and I learned so much about becoming an effective teacher. I loved getting to work with Mr. Murphy; he made my experience fun, easy, and personal. He allowed me to plan and teach how I designed it, which allowed me to notice areas of success and improvement. Something I did not expect was how much fun I would have. I had a blast! I loved getting to know each of my 8th graders and they will never understand how much they truly mean to me. They changed my life and made me fall in love with middle school education. The staff here is incredible and supports their teachers well.” Looking ahead, Miss Burke is set to graduate from college and marry her fiancé, Joseph Bird, on July 19th. CONGRATS! They will be moving to Indianapolis, where she has accepted a position teaching 7th-grade world history at Path School. Her excitement to continue teaching middle school is truly inspiring. We are immensely proud of Izabella and grateful for the time she spent with us.
